Who is Jeff Sinclair?
Brig. Gen. Jeffrey A. Sinclair
Brig. Gen. Jeffrey A. Sinclair serves as a special assistant to the Commanding General, XVIII Airborne Corps. He lives with his wife, Rebecca, and their two children, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Sinclair was commissioned an Infantry Officer from the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1985.
Sinclair holds a political science degree from West Virginia University, a master’s degree from Central Michigan University, and a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course, United States Army Command and General Staff College and the United States Naval War College.
Sinclair has been deployed to combat in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan. 
Sinclair was initially assigned to 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division in Germany from May 1987 to November 1989 and was transferred to the 24th Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Ga., from January 1991 to March 1994. He then began his first assignment with the 75th Ranger Regiment which lasted until May 1999.
From March 1994 to May 1999 Sinclair returned to positions within the 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Lewis, Wash., and Fort Benning, Ga.
He attended the United States Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas from August 1996 to June 1997 and returned to the 75th Ranger Regiment until May 1999.
From May 1999 to June 2001, he served as the Army Operations Officer, and later Chief, Plans and Training Division, at the Fort Bragg-based Joint Special Operations Command.
Sinclair served as the Executive Officer, 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division from June 2001 to May 2003 and commanded 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized), based in Germany from June 2003 to June 2005.
From June 2005 to June 2006, Sinclair served as the operations officer for 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized).
Sinclair attended the College of Naval Warfare, Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island from August 2006 to June 2007. He then commanded the 172nd Heavy Infantry Brigade Combat Team, from July 2007 to July 2010.
From July 2010 to May 2012, Sinclair served as the Deputy Commanding General (Support), 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Deputy Commander Support, Regional Command South, in Afghanistan.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge and Ranger Tab.
